Tucked just south of Soho, NYC Elite is a great place to let tots tumble, jump and run without fear of them terrorizing the neighbors or breaking any bones. The deluxe gymnasium is home to some serious athletes--girls and boys (ages 5-18) who compete in USAG gymnastics, but most parents know the facility for its topnotch tumbling instruction and summer camps.
With over 13,000 square feet, the facility is open and airy. Everything is padded and the staff is super-attentive so injuries are rare. Little tumblers can start as young as nine months. The next age group is Climbing Cubs (15-23 mos) and then Bouncin' Babies (24-36 mos). Older kids can enjoy drop-off programs. I love the location--I can drop off my daughter and then head to Le Pain Quotidian on Grand for a tea and a bit of grown-up time.
Baby classes start at $665 for 19 weeks.
5-day a week preschool camp costs $285 per week.
