A few weeks ago we took the kids to Holidays on the Hudson, a skating event. I was so inspired by the pint-sized athletes on skates! I am a disaster on ice. Maybe you are like me and skating wildly and falling is a tradition. Why not actually teach your kids bow to skate! Chelsea Piers offers a variety of classes and lessons from the beginner to the pro.
Kids as young as three can start with the Learn to Skate program. 30 minutes off ice, 30 minutes on ice. $352 for semester (12 classes) or $32 per class with a minimum of 4 classes. From there it is time to work towards figure skating in the Sky Rink or joining the River Rats Youth Hockey league.
Sky Rink has been teaching NYC children and adults the fun and excitement of ice skating for over 30 years. Overlooking the Hudson River, in New York City, the Sky Rink Skating School instructs skaters of all ages and levels in both figure skating and hockey using a progressive, station-based format and complete off-ice training.
Classes include: Admission to the General Session on the day of your scheduled class.
Note: Skate rental not included (Skate rental is $7.50).
