Have you considered compression sleeves for runners? Last year I got back into running in a big way. For more than 20 years I've been a runner, and on and off I join the amateur race circuit. It's a great way to stay motivated and to spot trends.
One of the big developments? Compression sleeves. They look like colorful socks at first glance. At first, I thought all these women were trying to bring back tube socks. "Weird," thought to myself. Not a trend I saw with a big future. And I kept on running.
Then I did a little research at the NYC Marathon Expo and found out this was a tube meant to improve performance. And I was intrigued. So I reached out to get a pair from Zensah.

The compression leg sleeves from Zensah ($39.99) are made with a special fabric that is supposed to increase oxygen to your legs. There is also silver integrated into the design which is said to help to regulate skin temperature and fight bacteria.
I like the snug feel of them, and while I can't prove that I am getting more oxygen to my muscles, I did feel good (but a little goofy--I mean they do look like tube socks). These leg sleeves can also help keep legs in shape on long-haul flights (I will be wearing them when I go to Asia this summer).
The Zensah compression leg sleeves are made with gradient compression--wide ribbing in the front for shin support and tight ribbing in the back for calf support. So you need to put them on correctly (The Chevron ribbing "v-pattern" should align with the middle front portion of the shin) and to wash with care.
