Discover Lea's Story

The 2016 Girl of the Year books were written by award-winning author Lisa Yee. Lea Dives In, Lea Leads the Way and Lea and Camila introduce readers to Lea, an adventurous and curious 10-year-old girl with a passion for photography and animals. Lea and her family are on a trip to Brazil to visit her older brother Zac, who is studying the Amazon rain forest. As a budding photographer, Lea is excited to capture everything she sees on film. Lea soon makes some incredible discoveries, faces unexpected challenges--like her fear of the ocean, and finds an injured baby sloth. With the help of her family and friends, Lea is able to find her inner strength and confidence to take on new adventures and live life to the fullest.
