Saturday Sips: Wine Awesomeness
It's safe to say that I love drinking wine. While I have my favorite go-tos, I also like to branch out and find new favorites. I don't have the time to study and curate wines for myself though, and that's why I like wine subscription services.
Wine Awesomeness is more than a monthly wine subscription box. They don't have any quizzes to take and each month they scour the world to deliver 6 of the best, craveworthy wines.
How it Works:
Wine Awesomeness is more than just a monthly wine club - it's a full experience. Each month you get 3 bottles (just red, just white or a variety) and The Back Label magazine. You can go all out and get the 6 pack box, it's your choice.
Each monthly box is curated by wine nerds, editors and writers to follow a theme. Each month takes you on a different journey. Some of their themes are a California Road Trip (through some of the best California wines and the stories behind them), a look at the work of women winemakers, a selection that's perfect for a BBQ or New Kids on the Block (a new wine producer that isn't very well know but makes great wines!)
When they say it's "a monthly journey curated for adventurous souls" that's really what it is.
The Back Label is a mini magazine about the wine experience you are about to embark on. There is a page dedicated to each bottle of wine that has been specially curated for the theme of the month. It contains tasting notes as well as educational content, DIY, recipes, behind the scenes editorial and more!
We love that Wine Awesomeness really creates a full journey with their wine. From custom tasting notes at your fingertips, to recipes to pair with your wine and wine drinking music playlist - they really want your wine drinking to be an experience.
For us, that made the wine taste so much better. Sure, anyone can buy and drink a bottle of wine without thinking about it but Wine Awesomeness helps us appreciate the wine and took us on a journey.

Wine Awesomeness helps remind us to appreciate the little things in life - conversation with friends while sipping a glass of great wine, listening to good music and eating delicious food.
One of our absolute favorite wines from our boxes was the 2014 Gamay from France. And I don't just mean it was our favorite from Wine Awesomeness, but I think it might be our new all time favorite.
While we didn't cook the recipe it suggested to pair with this wine, we did enjoy it with our Pho (that had many of the same spices and flavors as the suggested stew).
My husband and I put on the recommended music and really savored the wine. We studied and talked about the tasting notes, trying to guess the flavors we were tasting and comparing them to what was written in The Back Label. We found a new cool band and chatted about our day and how we really needed this time together to reconnect after a long, hard week.
It was our favorite at home date night that month thanks to Wine Awesomeness.
