What's your favorite holiday tradition?
As a kid, it was opening a surprise gift on Christmas Eve (PJs!), loading up in the car and driving to see Christmas lights. Living overseas we haven't been able to do that these past several years, but I hope to pick it back up when we (eventually) move back to the States.

Favorite holiday movie?
My kids are just getting into Home Alone. I love Love, Actually of course.

Favorite holiday treat?
Buckeyes! (you can link to this old post http://www.theshoppingmama.com/2009/12/howtomakebuckeyescandy/)

Favorite holiday book?
I love bringing out Christmas kids books and adding to the collection every year. I really like The Christmas Quiet book and this year we added a Soldier's Night Before Christmas.

Elf on the Shelf: Yay or Nay?
A little of both! We have one. I stink at it.

Xmas Attire: Ugly sweater or LBD?
LBD.

What did you ask Santa for this year?
A new camera.

What are you most excited to see your children open?
I'm excited to see their faces when they see gifts from Santa. I think they'll be happy.

What's your favorite holiday tradition?
I'm holiday pajama obsessed! I try to dress my kids in matching pairs from Thanksgiving to New Year's Day. But on Christmas Eve, we unwrap new pairs and it's a big production. We pretty much live in these jammies from Xmas even through Dec. 27. (I know, gross.)

Favorite holiday movie?
I have little one so we've been watching Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas and Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas on solid rotation since Dec. 1. I, too, heart Love Actually... and Scrooged (Murray Christmas!).

Favorite holiday treat?
Homemade butter/sugar spritz cookies. I had to beg, borrow, and steal to get my hands on this secret family recipe. And I only make them once a year... it's a process!

Favorite holiday book?
We read Twas the Night before Christmas to the kids on Xmas eve every year. I was super excited to get a few new additions this year: Mariah Carey's new All I Want for Christmas Book Is You and the adorable Home Alone picture book.

Elf on the Shelf: Yay or Nay?
Ugh. Just ugh. My elf is in retirement. It's official.

Xmas Attire: Ugly sweater or LBD?
Ugly Sweater. Better yet, ugly-sweater inspired pajamas!

What did you ask Santa for this year?
A good night's sleep. (But, um, I guess I was naughty this year...???)

What are you most excited to see your children open?
Santa got my three year old a ride-on construction digger! I think it will probably win Christmas. I'm also pumped to see my son's face when we introduce our the game Pie Face. (I hope he gets the whipped cream hand!)

What's your favorite holiday tradition?
One of our favorite holiday traditions is loading up everyone in the car with Christmas cookies we've decorated ourselves and a CD of sing-a-long Christmas songs. We drive through our neighborhood, sing songs at the top of our lungs, and admire all the Christmas lights and decorations.

Favorite holiday movie?
It's probably a tie between A Christmas Story and The Family Stone. Maybe it's the over-the-top wacky families that I love!

Favorite holiday treat?
Our family always makes poppy-seed bread. It's a secret recipe. We make loaf after loaf of it to give to family and friends and everyone always loves it. It's yummy with eggnog and we only have it during the holiday season.

Elf on the Shelf: Yay or Nay? (Feel free to elaborate)
Yes, we are an Elf on the Shelf family. Actually, this year our Elf Lola got 2 reindeer pets (I must be crazy!). Most of what our Elf does is move around or maybe bring a sweet treat for the kiddos to enjoy. Our Elf definitely doesn't do naughty things, and she's way too tired for elaborate set ups. The most she might do is get out a board game and sit beside it. My kids love it though and I love watching them discover where Lola is hiding each morning.

Xmas Attire: Ugly sweater or LBD?
Little black dress! I don't often get a chance to really dress up and while I love the wacky idea of an ugly sweater party (I've never been to one), I jump at the chance to get all fancy and put on my sparkly jewelry. This year my husband's holiday party was a masquerade ball and we had a blast!

What's your favorite holiday tradition?
My favorite holiday tradition is having a Nerf War on Christmas with my family. As we are opening presents, my parents hide Nerf guns in the mix. Whenever someone finds theirs, it's game on and it's a frantic dash for everyone else to find their gun....and the ammo.

Favorite holiday movie?
My favorite holiday movie has to be Home Alone.

Favorite holiday treat?
My favorite holiday treat is a hot toddy.

Favorite holiday book?
My all-time favorite holiday book is The Polar Express.

What did you ask Santa for this year?
This year I asked Santa to bring me closer to my family since now they are spread around the country. I guess I was on his nice list, because I'm headed to sunny Florida!
