If I had an extra hour in the morning, I would ….

Sleep some more!
Start the crockpot!
Blow-dry my hair!
Watch Netflix!
Try to sleep!
Clean the house!
Get a head start on work!

But that’s just me. This “fill in the blank” question was posed to me and some blogger friends recently at the #MTNightOut event in NYC and it was an easy answer. At least for me. As a mom to two young early-rising terrors, er, toddlers, I need more Zzz’s.

Yes, sleep and relaxation is pretty scarce these days. Thankfully, Momtrends and Meredith Publications (Parents, FitPregnancy, etc.), recently invited me to a moms'-night-out event, so that I could get some much-needed me-time, sip bubbly with my digital BFFs, and learn of some tips, tricks, and products that can make my already exhausting day just a little bit easier. I'll take all the help I can get!

Quaker Overnight Oat
Like I said, if I had an extra hour in the morning, it most likely would not be used to cook a homemade meal for my family. (Sorry, kids!) I need healthy, fast, and wholesome breakfast foods that are easy for me and delicious for them. Quaker Oats overnight oats are a family favorite at our table during the week. I can prep a big batch the night before to free up a little more time in the morning. It’s just 1/2 cup of milk to 1/2 cup of oats, topped with a few delightful ingredients—nuts, berries, honey, bananas, yogurt, and more! Refrigerate overnight, and it’s ready to enjoy in the morning. No work, no mess, and no fussing at the crack of dawn. Win-win!

Keeping your New Year's resolutions

The New Year is off to a fresh start, and many of us are committed to doing something or many things with more intention this year. But it's tough to stay on track. In fact, “Quitters Day”, which falls on January 14th this year, is the day when most people give up. How can you more

Kids in the Kitchen: Mini Banana Waffle Pies With Peanut Butter Dipping Sauce

School has started back for many (us included!), and today's Kid's in the Kitchen recipe makes for a perfect breakfast or after-school snack. We made ours for an after-school snack the other day and my second grader loved it. We call this recipe Mini Banana Waffle Pies With more

The Best Overnight French Toast Recipe

We've hit the winter lull--that lengthy stretch of season with no plans, no parties, nothing to do, and nowhere to go. I have to admit that at first, I welcomed the quiet obligation-free weekends of January. After the nonstop hustle-bustle pace of November and December, my family more

Clorox Disinfecting Wipes
This mama has no time for colds, flus, and viruses. I want to keep myself and my kids (and my husband!) healthy, happy, and energized. With back to school season well underway and the holidays approaching, I’m doing my part to ward off germs wherever and whenever I can. That means keeping Clorox Disinfecting Wipes on hand at all times—to wipe off doorknobs, keyboards, cell phones, faucets, toilets, and any other dubious surface. They kill 99.9% of germs, including viruses that cause colds and flu. We dressed up our Clorox wipes containers at the #MTNightOut event with the help of colorful stock paper, washi tape, and decorative embellishments. I forgot how much fun crafting for the sake of crafting can be.

I can’t even tell you how many garbage bags I go through on the daily. A family of four makes a whole lot of garbage. And one of those four people I'm referring to is still in diapers—well. said garbage bags can be awfully stinky. That’s why I was excited to learn about the launch of Glad with Febreze—they neutralize odors for up to five days. It's like aromatherapy in your kitchen. At #MTNightOut, we took the theme to the next level and created our own scented lotions using lemon, lavender, coconut and other fragrant essential oils.

Philips Avent
There’s a reason Philips Avent is the number one reusable bottle and pacifier brand in the United States. I remember when my newborn son left the hospital with that great bit oversized binky in his mouth. It was the cutest sight ever. And it most definitely did its job to sooth him. At the #MTNightOut event, we created gift sets for the new and expecting moms in our lives. We know that they’re in for quite the journey (and a few sleep-deprived years), so it’s nice to feel like we’re helping to prepare them with a few tried-and-true products.

Earth’s Best
I have young kids who are picky eaters. Earth’s Best’s line of organic, nutritious, and wholesome snacks and meals are a life saver for me. Now, they’re launching options for older kids—freeze-to-thaw fruit cups, cheese-stuffed pretzel bites, and more. We sampled some of the classic and new offerings at the event, and they were absolutely delicious and so easy and effortless... which is necessary. Because, this mom is not waking up an hour earlier to start meal prep.
