The calendar finally turns to September tomorrow, which means fall is literally just around the corner. The weather has already taken a turn for the cool here and I am welcoming fall weather with open arms. Yes, it's officially layering season. J.Jill has some fantastic transition pieces that can go from warm days (at the beach) to cooler evenings. And my favorites just so happen to be in a super classic color scheme that will never go out of style: black and white with a pop of red.
The Gingham Easy Shirt is just that - easy. Paired with denim and sandals, the black and white gingham pattern adds fun to a standard weekend uniform. The fit is really loose so I thew on skinny jeans to balance out the look and the Perfect Tank in Tomato adds a little color. The Tank is thick and long enough to wear on its own, but great weight for layering, too.
The Easy shirt is a great addition to my "mom wardrobe". The hip length provides full coverage and I can feel comfortable running around with my kids. To transition to fall, I'll pair this with a loose cardigan and boots.
For layering, it doesn't get much better than the Marled Open Front Cardigan (color Black Multi). I love a good open front cardigan and this one is lightweight with lots of movement.
Made from black and white mixed yarns, the cardigan is more of a cream and white than a true bright white. Again, I've layered it with the bright Tomato Perfect Tank and I could wear it with sandals for warmer days and then throw on boots to take the look into fall. Being an Ohio State Buckeyes fan (Go Scarlet and Gray!) I happen to think this is the perfect Saturday football outfit.
