Mother’s Day came early this year…
You see, I received a VIP invitation from Lindt Chocolate to attend an early screening of the new movie, Mother’s Day. And they told me to bring friends. And they sent me their iconic LINDOR Milk Chocolate truffles…
A few hours of kid-free fun, watching Jennifer Aniston in action and eating my way through a bag of decadent treats with a few of my favorite people?!?! Three words summed up my response: Count. Me. In.
I love my children, but it’s been far too long since Mama has indulged in a relaxing grownup night out—and even longer since I’ve gone to see a movie! I was positively giddy.
My evening kicked off the way every mom’s night out should begin—with luxury car service! I put up my feet and relaxed during the hour-long drive into Manhattan. “Sorry, ma’am. It looks like there’s some traffic.” Music to my ears—more time to answer emails, read a magazine, take a nap, drool, and soak in the rare quiet.
I arrived at the AMC Lincoln Center theater a few minutes early with my LINDOR truffles in tow (Tip: “BYO” movie snacks! If you’re going to indulge, you might as well spoil yourself with something that’s absolutely divine!). My brother and bestie met me there, and we found perfect seats, before immediately ripping into the chocolates (saving the goodies for the actual show is overrated). The LINDOR Milk Chocolate truffles delicate chocolate shells enrobe incredibly smooth melting centers. I closed my eyes and enjoyed a peaceful moment before the movie started... Pure bliss.
Mother’s Day is an ensemble film, directed by Garry Marshall, featuring the likes of Julia Roberts, Kate Hudson, Jason Sudeikis, and a few other big-name stars. Lindt Chocolate even makes its big-screen debut, in a film where multiple storylines, involving mothers, daughters, and sisters intersect in poignant, funny, and silly ways. Ultimately, the movie delivers a message of love—love for mothers, love for children, and love for one another.
I giggled when Jennifer Aniston’s character made a fool of herself, I cried when Jason Sudeikis’ character visited his wife’s grave, and I smiled when Kate Hudson’s character made amends with her mother. All whilst stuffing my face with chocolate. (Really—is there any other way to watch a movie?)
The film was just like my LINDOR truffles—sweet, smooth, rich, and totally irresistible. And, yes, it also left me feeling wholly satisfied and completely content.
This was exactly what the doctor ordered—a night out at the cinema. What a perfect way to pamper myself for Mother’s Day… I highly recommend. (Just don’t skimp on the chocolate!)
And don’t forget—May 2nd is National Truffle Day! Visit your local Lindt Chcoolate Shop and receive a complimentary LINDOR truffle. You can choose from a variety of 17 exquisite flavors such as Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, and Sea Salt. You might even find me at my favorite NYC location at 665 5th Avenue, New York, NY 10022.
