The days are long, but the years are short. That is truly that mantra of motherhood. I spend the days running and navigating life with three kids where I often look at my older daughter, who is almost 7, in amazement. How did the time go by so fast? It is amazing, really, how much she has grown and developed where just a short time ago she was her baby sisters' age.
Motherhood is this constant ebb and flow of so many ups and downs that continues to challenge and excite me. It has also made me easily turn into a puddle of mush at any sentimental reference to this magical role we mothers have. Recently, I had the chance to experience to such a sentimental while listening to the moving and powerful new single from Garth Brooks called "Mom." As a powerful country star, Garth Brooks powerful voice takes the listener on a journey of hearing how a baby is coming to earth to meet his mom. With references like "loving angel tender and strong, it is almost time to go and meet your mom" and "you'll never have a better friend, a warmer touch to tuck you in," you can 't help but be moved, and shed a few tears.
