We're big strawberry fanatics in this house...
I make strawberries and cream as a breakfast treat almost every morning (it's just strawberries tossed in low-fat sour cream, skim milk, and bit of sugar or Stevia—delish!) My three-year-old will always choose a plain scoop of strawberry ice cream over any chocolate-loaded, sprinkle-covered, marshmallow-topped sundae. I demand—yes, demand—a homemade strawberry shortcake every year on my birthday. (One of these days I'll actually learn and share the ridiculous recipe.) And my husband and I will occasionally drive an hour just to go get our favorite strawberry pie. (It's $25 and worth every cent, calorie, mile, and minute.)
Naturally, when the season rolls around, we're all about picking our own strawberries off the vine. Of course, this used to be much easier—back when it was just me and my husband. Now we have two little ones to slather in sunscreen, load up in wagons, and check for tics at the end of the day. But it's definitely more fun as a family of four—and way cuter too!
Keeping your New Year's resolutions
The New Year is off to a fresh start, and many of us are committed to doing something or many things with more intention this year. But it's tough to stay on track. In fact, “Quitters Day”, which falls on January 14th this year, is the day when most people give up. How can you ...read more

The Best Overnight French Toast Recipe
We've hit the winter lull--that lengthy stretch of season with no plans, no parties, nothing to do, and nowhere to go. I have to admit that at first, I welcomed the quiet obligation-free weekends of January. After the nonstop hustle-bustle pace of November and December, my family ...read more
We took a morning trip to the North Fork of Long Island a few weekends ago to pick our bounty—and, oh my goodness, were they good. Simultaneously firm and soft and sweet and juicy. This little lady couldn't stop stuffing her face. While we were taste testing our picks, a fellow mommy of toddlers stopped to compliment Baby P's apropos ensemble--she actually applauded me. "Well done," she said. (I mean—as if picking strawberries wasn't enough of a treat—this simple and funny gesture totally made my day!) Apparently, it looks like I actually have my act together. (Fooled her!)
Seriously though, if you're planning a strawberry-picking day with a little lady in tow, I highly recommend curating a berry quick and cute outfit. It'll make for some super-adorable photo ops—I promise! I've rounded up a few of my favorite strawberry styles for the warmer months. We'll be eating and wearing our berries all summer long!
