DIY Star Wars Lantern—#ShareKleenexCare

Image placeholder title

My four year old son and I were at a Halloween party a few days ago when he saw his first stormtrooper. "Mommy, what is THAT awesome costume?!?," he asked enthusiastically—and thus began his introduction to the world of Star Wars.

My husband couldn't be happier about this sudden revelation. He's been chomping at the bit waiting to usher our firstborn child into the "dark side"—of the movie theater, that is. Of course, I'm the "villain" that argues our little guy is still a bit too young to actually watch the content of the films. (Sorry, dear, you'll have to wait a few more years. But, don't worry, I booked a sitter for December 16, so that you and I can go to see Rogue One: A Star Wars Story© TM Lucasfilm LTD the first day it hits the big screen.)

In the meantime, we can still slowly get our mini man involved in the action with some crafty bedtime fun thanks to these Kleenex brand boxes featuring Star Wars designs. We made these DIY lanterns—so that we could turn off all the lights and create our own ceiling galaxy of stars!

In the upcoming film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, ordinary people must do extraordinary things. As a mom with young kids, I feel like I'm always tasked with managing "the extraordinary." Whether it's juggling school pickup with Little Sister's nap, making multiple meals for picky eaters, calming bedtime tantrums with an impromptu craft, or taking care of a sneezing, stuffy baby (word to the wise: don't discard of all those Kleenex tissues you unpack!), there are endless "heroic" ways—big and small—I can show my love and express how much I care... And introducing this guy to Star Wars is probably the most fun way of all!
