Two Ways to Wear a Little Black Dress

If there is one mainstay in my wardrobe...it's the little black dress. It's always been there and will always be there for one very simple reason. It's timeless. Whether you're a twenty-something new mom or a forty-something firmly in the motherhood trenches, the little black dress is a piece that will never let you down. Not only is it classic, but it's extremely versatile. Most LBDs can be worn a slew of different ways. In fact, I recently rocked my new ruched Maggy London little black dress two very different ways and thought it would be fun to show you how easily a little black dress' look can be switched up!

For me...styling a LBD is all about the shoes and the baubles. By changing out those two things you can completely change an outfit's vibe. Take my first look for instance. Animal print pumps, my Arizona souvenir ring and turquoise statement ring from the Jennifer West Collection for American West Jewelry make for a seriously sassy ensemble. I consider animal prints as much of a staple as I do little black dresses, but that conversation is for another day. Back to the topic at hand. I can so see this look headed out for a hot date night with my honey!

And on the more casual front, I styled the same LBD with fun red Ferragamo flats and a subtle little personalized necklace from Lola James Jewelry. I just love jewelry that you can leave on all the time. This necklace is one of those pieces. It goes with everything! And I love that I can wear the names of the loves of my life, my kiddos, around my neck all day long.

So, is a new little black dress on your 2016 must have list? If it's not, it should be!
