Monday Mingle: Style Plaid For the Holidays

Style Plaid For the Holidays

Time for holiday fun. For me it meant a trip to the Union Square Market to shop small and style plaid for the holidays. Plaid is so festive--in such a classic way. This cape will be your signature piece for the season. Talbots has this one and a black and white check cape too.

I'm a fan of outdoor markets. The Union Square Market in NYC has such a great collection of handmade items and small vendors. Head to 14th St & Union Square West and bring and appetite--the gingerbread men from Breezy Hill Orchard I found were delicious. People were also scooping up the doughnuts and cider.

You can get a listing of all the vendors and the hours here's a wonderful place to bring the kids--there are so many cute ornaments and decor items there.

Style Plaid For the Holidays

1. Only one piece of plaid per outfit.
2. Mix with denim for a casual look.
3. Have fun and embrace the season.

Though you could make this cape more serious by wearing it with all black and boots, why not make it more playful with jeans and sneakers?

Seavees Laguna

Since I was doing a ton of walking, I paired the cape with these cute new shoes from Seavees. These are the Laguna Chelsea Boot--but they are really a sneaker that tries to look like a boot.

This is my first pair of Seavees--they are sized on the large side, but extremely comfortable. Slip them on like a boot with the heel pull tab.
