Happy Thursday lovelies! I?m back with this week?s trend dishin' sesh. Let?s talk about lace. If you?re a child of the eighties like moi, when you think about lace, the first thing that comes to mind is old school Madonna rockin? a risqué lace bustier. Don?t get me wrong, I still think that look is pretty killer, I?m just not sure this thirty-something mama can pull it off. Haha! Well, I can?t pull it off in public anyway. I reserve the right to don said bustier and dance around to Holiday in my house at my discretion. I promise I'll close the shutters first. There's no reason to subject the neighbors to that. Haha!
Just because I won?t be channeling the Material Girl when I?m out and about any time soon doesn?t mean I don?t want to try out one of spring?s prettiest trends. Some of my favorite designers like Alexander McQueen, Jason Wu, Oscar de la Renta and Roberto Cavalli featured some perfectly lovely lace looks in their spring 2013 collections that served as major inspiration for me!
There is no reason we can?t start wearing spring trends now. A lace tank peeking out from under a blazer or a lace pencil skirt worn with button down are totally winter weather appropriate outfits. I know that it?s technically still winter, but I definitely have spring on my brain. Who?s with me? I promise I won?t brag about our eighty degree weather like I did last week?but seriously?how could I NOT think about spring with weather like that?
If it?s more frigid than mild where you live, you might have to wait a little while before you can go all out and try an arm barin? lace dress, but you can start those push ups now! Personally, my goal is to build up some fierce biceps a la our fabulously fit First Lady! Mrs. Obama does the sleeveless look better than anyone in my opinion, but I digress?
So, how will you be working lace into your wardrobe? Inquiring minds want to know!
