One of my favorite roles is that of a Ski Mama. Sure, I'm a wife, and a mom and a mom boss, but I relish my time on the slopes. I came to skiing late, I learned at 31 (thanks to Mr. Momtrends) and at the time I didn't know what a big part of my life it would become. Now we are raising two little skiers and spend a ton of our family time on the slopes. That's why I started the Digital Family Ski Guide and why I am a semi-professional snow chaser.
To celebrate the launch of our 2016/17 Ski Guide, my co-publisher Kim-Marie of Luxury Travel Mom and I designed these cute Ski Mama t-shirts. They come in sizes XS-L and are just the thing for layering under your ski gear or to wear on any winter outing.
To show you how to style it off the slopes, Kim-Marie and I headed to Bryant Park to do some skating. Sure, you probably know about the Rockefeller Rink, but if you don't live in NYC you might not have heard of this other skating spot. It's FREE! All you need to pay for are skates. It's in a great location, right near the NYC Public Library and very family friendly.
I paired the Ski Mama t-shirt with my favorite cabi denim and a fur vest. I also added my favorite winter hat from Mitscoots.com.
5 Pretty Ways To Organize Your Jewelry
I admit - I'm guilt. Despite my best efforts, my "jewelry drawer" has become a tangled mess of necklaces, bracelets and earrings. This cluttered collection not only makes it hard to see what I have, but difficult to untangle the pieces I do want to wear! This summer, I'm ...read more
This Year's Coolest Jumbo Pool Floats
Pool season is almost here! I can't wait to relax, read a book, and sip a cocktail while lazily drifting in an oversized float. (Just kidding, I have two toddlers--but a swim mama can dream, right?). If you've got a staycation planned, check out this year's coolest jumbo pool ...read more
Crystal Clear and Pristine: Pool-Cleaning Tips
Tropical Storm Isaiah gave us quite the midsummer surprise here in the suburbs of New York City. We just got our power back on after a whole week of darkness! With trees down, debris everywhere, and lots of uncertainty, one thing we forgot to check on: our above ground Intex ...read more
I picked up the cream beanie hat in Austin when I went to visit the Mitscoots headquarters. The sweetest couple founded the company. They were looking for a way to do some good and employ homeless people. The mission is to help to outfit and employ the transitioning homeless. All the hats and socks are 100% made in the USA.
The couple behind the brand volunteered helping the homeless. They studied the problem and found that clean, warm socks were a big deal to men living on the streets. The company was founded with the mission to give a pair of socks away with each purchase. They've stayed true to the mission and added cute hats along the way. This brand embodies everything I'm trying to focus on this year. Doing more, but not buying more.
Here's my way of giving back, when you purchase a Ski Mama t-shirt I'm going to donate $1 to the US Olympic Ski Team to help fund the next dream. Hope you'll get a t-shirt, wear it a ton and fall in love with this sport and time with family outdoors.
