Do you have any last minute summer trips planned lovelies? Then you're going to need some summer travel essentials! It will be back to school time before you know it, so why not escape for a little getaway before the craziness of the school year commences? I recently got back from a trip to our family's vacation home in the Blue Ridge Mountains. As always, it was a decidedly casual trip, but the hubs and I did plan to sneak in a little alone time, so I needed to make sure I packed both casual and dressy pieces.
I think that rule applies to most summer getaways. You never know when you're going to want to dress up a bit, so I've come up with some must pack pieces that should work for you no matter where you're headed this summer. This is by no means an exhaustive packing list, but it should get you a good way there.
First off, my forever favorite transitional piece, the denim jacket is definitely a summer travel essential. Even tropical locales can call for an extra layer. Perhaps there will be a nice evening breeze by the water or maybe the air conditioner will be turned up all the way in a restaurant. Thus, a layering piece is always a good idea! On that note, I always pack a scarf when I travel too...no matter what time of year it is!
And the jacket would look great with my next two summer travel essentials...a black tank and white jeans. The tank works during the day when it's warm out and just as good peeking out from underneath a top layer. And black and white continues to be a hot trend, so you can't go wrong if you pair your black tank with white denim!
Next up, a good date night look couldn't hurt. A cute little sundress and a fun pair of wedges could be just what you need. The wedges won't sink in sand and you can rock them with your white denim too! In fact, most of these pieces can be remixed. The more versatile your pieces are, the less you have to pack!
