As a Mom Boss, I love supporting other entrepreneurs. A big part of why I wrote my book last year was to help other women to successfully launch brands. And while my heart has a special place for mom entrepreneurs, it also has plenty of room for ALL female-owned start-ups. When I found SaffronNYC on Instagram, I definitely wanted to work with them. This pretty tunic top for summer has become a fast favorite.
Based in NYC, they have a sweet Etsy shop with beautiful handmade women's ethnic kurtas and tunics. When in India, you'll see these tops everywhere--it's simply too hot for heavier fabrics.
SaffronNYC uses 100% cotton fabric that is just the kind of things you want to wear all day long on a warm summer day. In fact, I did just that this weekend.
My mini-photographer (age 9--those are her feet) shot these as the sun was going down last night. We had a day at the pool in Connecticut (where we spend much of our weekends) and then dinner on the deck before returning to the city. Pretty much, the perfect day!
Spring Skiing at Mount Bachelor, Oregon
No one told me it was possible to ski in a foot of fresh powder in May. Being part of the ski world has opened up many exciting travel opportunities for me. Heading to Bend, Oregon for a bit of spring skiing at Mount Bachelor was a completely unexpected delight, and it might just ...read more
The Best Japanese Beauty Products

Stylish Beach Accessories for a Day in the Sun, Sand, and Surf
I've been coveting this Eugenia Kim sun hat that's been all over Instagram for the past two months. With a wide-brim and the words "Do Not Disturb" embroidered on the front, it's the ideal accessory for a quiet day of reading on the beach. Built-in shade, some peaceful privacy, ...read more
Pretty Tunic Top For Summer
When styling this top, keep it simple. On the bottom white jeans, boyfriend jeans, cut-offs or a denim skirt. As for jewelry, I'm just wearing an old "momtrends" pendant I also got on Etsy. My hair is in a wet bun--pretty much how it is all weekend long. And on my feet, my bright Birkenstock sandals.
Did I mention the top is only $21 dollars. Yes, I love Roberta Roller Rabbit and pretty much everything at Calypso in NYC, but they can be pricey. This top is exquisite quality and the same breezy fabric you get from those brands at a fraction of the price. And you can save an additional 20% using code Momtrends20. The top is basically free!
There are other prints in the line, but the styles are all inspired by India and the colorful, lightweight fabrics you will see there.
