I keep checking the weather report. I'm hoping the thermometer inches towards the 50s so I can start breaking out pastels. Pastels are all over Pinterest--from cupcakes to nail art to head to toe looks. It's undeniable. This trend is coming on strong. The good news: This spring fashion trend is very wearable. It's so fresh. And such a perfect break from the dark days of winter.

When I'm thinking about pastels, I know I've got to mix sweet and sassy. You'll likely see me adding touches of black to work these light colors into my outfits. I like pairing pastels with a bit of boldnes. The Prabal Gurung for Target is s great way to add in light pastels for a chic urban look. I'd wear this outfit with black heels to add a bit of downtown edge and to make it look more appropriate for the in-between weather.
For anyone who isn't a fashion risk taker, fear not, this trend works for you too. If your style is more conservative or preppy, here are three other easy ways to wear pastels this spring:
Jeans:Get a great pair of pastel jeans (try lavender). Work them back to a solid sweater or chambray shirt.
Wallet:You don't have to spend a ton to spruce up your accessories. If you've got a great handbag already, slip in a fun wallet in a sunny hue for spring.
Ballet Flats:Pair these with white denim and a tee and you'll be on trend. Wear them to weekend brunch or a movie night with your girlfriend.
It’s Time for Springtime. Don't be afraid to experiment with your look. Target makes it affordable and easy to play around with the trends.
