Chic Pique Hosiery

If there is something I would bring back from a European trip, it would be hosiery. And chocolate. And Louboutins. OK…I guess there are a few things. Good thing I have a nice sized suitcase. Either way, you get my drift. All things glamorous can be found in Europe.

Satya Twena agrees with me. This milliner had a three-month excursion to Paris and when she returned, her Pique Hosierywas born.

This monthly curated subscription service offers women a chance to discover new brands of leg wear from Europe. Think coveted Gerbe, Ilux and Commando (read: Donna Karan, your days are numbered). Take a style quiz and then Pique populates your showroom with styles you're going to love. Each month, you get to select an item from a bunch (usually around 20 or so).

There are two different packages – Luxe is $25 per month for one pair, and DeLuxe is $48 per month for two pairs. What’s your pleasure? You can keep things simple with opaque or cashmere tights. Or are you upping the ante this month with vintage garter stay-ups with French lace or sexy fishnets? And of course there’s always something fun up their sleeve, with crazy patterned hose and tights. Share with your man their newly added merino jersey socks. They also have maternity tights and full-figured sizes.

I was lucky enough to grab a few over the past two months, and I haven't been disappointed. They come in glorious boxes, wrapped in tissue and with a little calling card (perhaps with advice on how to dress up your tights). My January choice was a gorgeous pair of black fishnet that were more like Eiffel Tower patterns within the style. February brought me these silky floral lace-patterned leggings from Stelle Elyse Leg Wear. They're like pouring liquid on, and not in a creepy pleather way. I also got a pair of Classic Opaque Ribbed Tights from StockinGirl.

And there are women everywhere who are discovering Pique, with mentions in Daily Candy, New York magazine and on the Today Show. I can’t wait for March. You might say, my interest in piqued.
