I have come to terms with the fact that I simply do not know how to blow out my own hair. I've tried for years and finally surrendered to a once a week blowout. I schedule appointments, workouts, everything around my once a week "me" time. So when Momtrends received an invite for a Baking Soda infused blowout at the new Dream Dry salon co-owned by the fabulous Rachel Zoe, I was there!
I do use baking soda for quite a few things around my house but never thought I could use it to actually wash my hair. Baking soda can help get rid of product buildup in hair. By sprinkling a small amount ( about quarter-size) of ARM & HAMMER Baking Soda into your palm along with your favorite shampoo. Shampoo as usual and rinse thoroughly. The ARM & HAMMER Baking Soda helps remove the residue that styling products leave behind so your hair is cleaner and more manageable. The hair dresser did just that and I have to say my blowout is lasting me even longer than it normally does. My Dream Dry experience was so lovely and the added touches like the use of an iPad while getting a blowout was just perfect!
ARM & HAMMER Baking Soda has provided families with countless, cost- effective cleaning and deodorizing solutions. From scratch-less cleaning to natural deodorizing, personal care, cooking and food preparation, it is the ultimate resourceful product for todays home.
A visit to the Old Navy showroom was just what I needed last week to rid me of the winter blues. From the showroom setup with a faux pool, cabana, and an arcade complete with bumper cars, I am dreaming of summer days and beach dresses. The theme this season and seen through their women, men, and children's collection are black and whites, prints, denim, and A la Americana with colors red, white and blue.
I could not get over the fun beachy coverups for myself and really fun silhouette bathing suits. This collection will hit the Old Navy stores in May and will continue through July. I promise you will not be disappointed. I cannot wait till it hit stores as I think it is their best yet!

I have been a huge fan of Bloom for a long time now. In fact, the first high chair I've ever bought was from Bloom. I felt that since my child would be in this from infant to toddler, I wanted something that would be more modern in my small space apartment. The company started by four fathers each came to feel that there was a significant gap in the marketplace. Bloom Baby is all about clean aesthetics, innovative design and high standards for safety could coexist. Today, the brand continues to create high quality, iconic and enhancing products.
Bloom recently launched a new crib and dresser called The Retro collection. The collection features soft rounded lines; a take on 1950s but with a contemporary style. Crafted from solid wood, the Retro Crib is suitable from new born up to 5 years with an elegant toddler rail available as the baby grows. The spacious retro dresser perfectly complements the retro crib with clean lines. The Retro is crafted from solid birch wood from certified sustainable wood forests. Wood is independently tested to be free of wood PCP and other toxic wood preservatives. The Crib suitable with standard size mattress and bedding with bloom pocket spring mattress.
Both the crib and dresser retail for $1200 each and come in two colors. For more information visit www.bloombaby.com
After recently seeing the Lego movie, my son was so psyched to check out the LEGOLAND event held in NYC. We learned about the new happenings in the three locations of LEGOLAND. The ultimate, Master Model Builder, Gary McIntire, was on site to build with us! All the children had the opportunity of building the new LEGO Legends of CHIMA model.
The LEGOLAND Discovery Center is a world of entertainment, color and creativity for families with children aged 3-10. I am excited to check out the Discovery Center just a short drive from NYC to Westchester.
LEGOLAND Floridas DUPLO Valley has a new expansion area specifically geared to toddlers ages 2 to 5, the park will officially open to guests on May 23, 2014, just in time for family-fun over Memorial Day weekend. The central feature of DUPLO Valley will be the DUPLO Train where toddlers will be able to board a train on their own or with their parents to explore countryside-themed scenery passing through farms, fishing holes and campgrounds. For those looking to cool off, the new splash and play area will be refreshingly fun with intermittent water spouts and interactive water elements set among larger than life farm animals with a soft deck for safety.
