New Balance and Milos Raonic at the US Open

Milos Raonic talks to Momtrends

Momtrends was invited to SPiN New York in Manhattan for the unveiling of the official New Balance Tennis line with professional tennis star Milos Raonic. Ranked #11 in the world, Raonic will be wearing corresponding tennis footwear and apparel during the upcoming US Open (August 26-September 9) and all major tennis tournaments.

I was lucky enough to catch up with the Canadian tennis champ Raonic and talk all things tennis and Canada. Because I was born and raised in Montreal and Milos spent several years there himself, I asked him which Canadian city was his favorite for playing tennis. The well-spoken and diplomatic 22 year old found it difficult to choose between Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto. He said he had some of this best career moments in Montreal, including training there for 3 years. Hot off his success at the Rogers Cup in Montreal just a few short weeks ago, he is now the highest ranked Canadian tennis player in the history of the open era. His friends and family are mostly in Toronto so it also holds a special place in his heart. Vancouver spectators, he said, were the most energetic because they rarely get tennis matches and so are always appreciative of a professional game in their city.

I warmed up my ping pong skills just in case. Sadly, I didn't get to go up against the king of the ace, but I'm sure I spared myself the embarrassment.
