With Mother's Day coming up on May 12th, I thought it would be fun to talk about what to wear on mama's special day! In our family, we get three generations together to take out the matriarch of our family, my ninety-one year old grandmother, otherwise known as Nonnie. This year we're all going to enjoy high tea at a beautiful tea room and come to think of it, there won't be three generations celebrating Mother's Day this time around..There will be four! The arrival of my lil' lady bean has made our ladies' day out even more special!
I don't know about you, but I just love the idea of mommy and me looks. Not the matchy matchy kind, but the coordinating kind! And I can't think of a time more perfect time than Mother's Day to coordinate my look with my daughter's! Especially since it's my first Mother's Day as the mama of a little girl.
One of my favorite trends is mixed prints and Tea offers modern dresses for women and girls in prints and colors that play beautifully off each other. And don't get me started on how super soft they are...I've dressed my girl in Tea since she was a newborn and I'm now a huge fan of their women's line as well!
If you'd like to go a more traditional route, Poppy has lovely storybook themed frocks! These charming beauties have high tea written all over them no? I can definitely picture myself wearing a whimsical Poppy dress while sipping from a delicate teacup and noshing on scones and clotted cream. Just sayin'.
My lil' lady bean and I were lucky enough to try some of these styles! Our foot candy came courtesy ofBrian James Footwear and Pediped. For me, Mother's Day is all about spending time with my loved ones, which include my kiddos, so even if we're dressed up, comfort is still important. Not only are my gorgeous Chantal sandals the perfect pair of neutral footwear, just look at how fabulous they look with both dresses, but they're insanely comfy as well. I definitely won't have any trouble running after my Energizer Bunny lil' lady bean!
So, what's your Mother's Day style lovelies?
