Today is all about the little extras--details and flair that turns kids clothing into fashion. First I'm going to talk about the Short Hat Company. I for one am thrilled that hats are back--especially for little boys. Each day as I walk my daughter to school we spot trendy toppers on her pals. No. Not boring baseball caps. We are talking fedoras, racing caps and cool flap hats.
Want to get in on the trend? Short Hat Company is all over it. The Colorado-based company is family owned and they sweat all the details on their designs. I found them at a small fashion event in NYC. While the girls' styles were divine, I'm more smitten with the boys hats. The quilted Rufus ($32) is a hat any little boy will gladly wear--no battles when it is time to suit up. For wee ones, the Peanut($32) is quite possibly the sweetest hat I've seen. This plaid jockey cap is both itch-free and ready for the runway.
Think I haven't found anything for your boy? I've got one more. The Oscar is a handmade ear-flap hat in two classic earthy colors for $30. Now I think I've covered all the heads out there with my suggestions. No complaining about cold ears please.
