How to Wear White Pants

So, does the thought of putting on white pants make you shudder like you're watching a slasher flick? You aren't alone. White skinnies are usually always a staple in my summer wardrobe, but since I'm still working on losing some of my baby weight, I haven't exactly been pulling them out of my closet lately.

As soon as I saw Monika Chiang's Twill Moto Pants, however, I knew I had to give white pants a shot this year after all. These pants are fierce with capital F and can be dressed up or down with ease. Now you won't see me rockin' a crop top with these bad boys, but I would definitely pair them with some flattering, loose fitting tops...Yep. That's a look I can get behind! Even if I don't splurge on the Monika Chiang pair, I'm beginning to see a lot of possibilities for a pair of cropped, crisp white pants. They really do scream summertime...don't you think?!? Now as for what I' would style them with...I have a couple of ideas that I would love to make reality right away.

Chambray pieces are another of my summer wardrobe must haves and a sweet little chambray top would look just darling with white pants. Styled with a pair of neutral sandals, you have a subtle, yet oh so chic look. White is such a blank palette. You can literally pair a pair of white pants with nearly any color, so if neutral sandals aren't your cup of tea, a bold statement color like shocking pink would be just as fun with the chambray top.

Another of my favorites this year is the black and white trend. It was all over the spring runways and is still going strong this summer. I love the idea of a black and white floral print top because it keeps the floral print from being too overtly girly and has just the right amount of edge...especially paired when with the moto pants!

I'm also still ALL about ankle strap heels and a cropped pant puts ankle straps on full display. So, I'll probably be adding another pair of ankle straps, as well as some new white pants to my closet. What about you lovelies?
