How to Wear Pink

How to Wear Pink

My two daughters have taught me a lot about fashion, one of the most important lessons is how to wear pink. Pink can be girlie, and that's not a bad thing. When I think of pink, I think happy thoughts. I like embracing my feminine side. It's playful and that's wonderful.

Before the girls, I wore a lot of dark colors all over NYC. I dressed for fashion and work and tried to be stylish and fashionable. Being serious is over-rated. The older I get the more I think clothes should be playful. They should be an extension of your personality. Nowadays, my personality is pink. And I owe that to being a mom.

While the season change, I'm hanging on to my pink as all the stores show navy, gray and LOTS of black. I dug out a pink cabi top and put it together with my cabi crop jeans (you can check out the newest crop cabi pair here).

How to Wear Pink

1. Pair it with a neutral bottom like navy, white or black
2. Don't wear more than two pieces of pink at a time (more is not more in this case)
3. Try the nude lip that's in this season.
4. Have fun! Pink is meant to be playful.

The pink top can be layered under navy if you want to make it work for fall. And don't forget about the accessories. I love gold flats paired with pink.

This mini tote is from Ellen Allen. It's called the Main Street Mini Bag and it's named after a street in Annapolis (my home town). All of Ellen's bags have a tie to Annapolis and all of them have loads of style. They are also 100% mom friendly. They have a waterproof coating on them to keep them clean and pretty.

Ellen, the designer, was featured in Mom Boss(the book) and she's also teaming up with me for an event this week in Annapolis.
