Scarves, sweaters, boots, tights - fall is such a rich time for cozy fashion. As the leaves change and the air turns cool, I'll be throwing on one of these fall trends - blanket scarves and ponchos.
What makes something a blanket scarf, you ask, instead of a regular old scarf? The size. Blanket scarves are designed to be big enough that they can nearly double as blankets. Many of them also have blanket-ish prints and textures - think chunky knits and soft cashmeres, plaids and geometric designs.
I love that blanket scarves truly help you transition your wardrobe into fall by offering more layers and warmth than a lightweight summer scarf, but without providing the heavy winter protection that we'll soon need. Plus, they are just so downright cozy while still being chic.
If you don't feel confident tying a scarf or feel a little claustrophobic with that much material by your face, you can still rock this trend with a blanket poncho that provides much of the same look without the fabric bulk.
