It's officially spring and time to start thinking about outfit ideas that can work with the wild temperature fluctuations on the East Coast. The day can start out in the 40s and end in the 70s. It's no joke that you need layers and a sense of humor to dress for this type of weather. Lots of my friends had a dusting of SNOW last night.
When I think about spring fashion I want a few things--first color! In winter, I tend to wear dark colors (lots of navy and gray). I'm not apologizing, it's just how you deal with the dirty slush here in NYC. But once the daffodils pop up, I crave color. For this outfit, I started with the cabi clothing Siena print blouse (A portion of the net proceeds from the sale of the Siena Blouse will fund The Heart of cabi Foundation's efforts around the world. The foundation gives loans to women to start businesses) and then add my old Furry, Furry coat from the brand to layer it. Because the second essential for spring is dressing in layers.
Warmth and color combined. Score. The furry jacket is almost like a sweater, I wear in indoors if I'm cold. It's really light and has a soft blush color.
For the pants, let me just say that everyone needs this cabi Traveller pant. I wish I could earn commission and host a cabi party and sell this pant to everyone I know. One of these days I will host a styling event in my apartment. And when I do, I hope this pant is still around. It's completely flattering and so comfy.
The new boots are from Anthropologie the Jeffrey Campbell Taggart Booties ($200). They come in five colors, but this olive pair drew me in. I'm still riding the bootie trend! Are you still into this one?
And finally the bracelets are from Joseph Noguchi. Colorful bursts of fun. That's what spring is all about! I keep adding new beads and love the way they accent any outfit.
