Weather happens. Frumpy raincoats don't have to. Since we know a mom often has her hands full, we love rain gear with ample coverage. Last fall year at our fashion appointments here in NYC we stumbled upon
These chic see-through coats give you full rain protection without the baggy look. One of the founders, Marie Saeki, is a business friend who saw a niche and went for it. As a marketing pro, she knows how to design products women will want. As a cyclist, she knows that rain gear has to perform. Let it pour. All Terra New York rainwear products look great and are 100% water proof, using heat sealed technic for the seams to stop water.
Here are a few of our favorites from the line:
Nolita Nude ($240)
The rain hear has heat sealed seams to not let a drop of water in! Note: Clean with a sponge and mild soap, to wrinkle out hang on hanger in a warm room (bathtub for example). I just love the cape style it's so Audrey Hepburn chic. Though I do wonder if the water would drip on my pants in this style.
Lower East Side($285)
The clothes are vegan and biodegradeable--the perfect ethical fashion to keep you dry. The brand was created in 2009 after Creative Director Yurika Nakazono, a bicycle-loving New Yorker, realized there was a gaping hole in her wardrobe for functional rain-gear that met her fashion standards. The raincoats are award-winning and let's just say it, super chic.
For the ultimate in cool rain gear, add some Hunter boots and head out into the storms. I say there's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing for the weather. Stock your closet with the right gear and nothing can stop you.
