Time to share my travel-chic must-haves! So much to recap now that we're back from Norway. We had an amazing European adventure; full of family, fun and a little bit of fashion.
I'm going to write some posts from the road all about the fjords and our time exploring Norway, for today, I want to talk about Oslo and going makeup-free for a week.
First, let's talk about my travel favorites. I can't say how much these Birkenstocks were worn on this trip. The metallic gold made them fancy, the construction made them walkable for the miles and miles I walked each day. My German relatives thought they were hilarious! In Germany, let's just say they are NOT the coolest footwear around. My friends just couldn't believe these shoes are trendy.
This is shot at out front of our cute little hotel. We had a cute little (and I mean little) apartment. The Saga Apartments room was on the squishy side, but the hotel had a swank lobby and a great breakfast.
Yes, you've seen these shoes before. They went with everything I packed. Add in white jeans and a fun tee with metallic dots and you've got a pretty cute outfit. My other accessory I want to rave about was this great Longchamp Le Pliage Bag. I kept this bag folded on my large carry-one tote (we took 6 flights in total during our trip). Once I arrived at our destination, I ditched my tote for this cute city bag. It's so light and yet large enough for all I need.
The weather was cool and clear. I actually needed a jacket in the morning. I opted for a military style with lots of pockets. I needed light layers for our days.
Oslo is a world-class city and there was a lot to see. On the Norway segment of the trip we visited two large cities, Bergen and Oslo. Both have ports, and both are fabulous, Oslo is much more cosmopolitan though.
Boozy Hazelnut Coffee Cocktail
Another week, another cocktail recipe, girls. Last week, I must confess, I thoroughly enjoyed the strawberry bourbon smash cocktail. With family in town for my son's 4th birthday, there were reasons to celebrate. This fall we've switched it up to a warming cocktail a Boozy ...read more

How to Celebrate Adoptive Parents
I recently learned that a friend who had been patiently awaiting a child became a parent practically overnight. When I heard about this loving couple bringing home their first baby, it really got me thinking about how to celebrate adoptive parents. We have experience with ...read more
We had a luxe meal at Restaurant Fauna and a great outing to the Viking Ship Museum. The girls loved exploring the relatively empty museum. We took the ferry over to the museum from the city hall area. Oslo is VERY walkable and has great public transportation.
And finally a word about skincare and summer and makeup. I'm 40+ and love the sun, but I've been really good about sun protection over the years. My skin's not perfect, but with a little summer glow going on I felt confident enough to go makeup free for Norway trip. At night maybe, maybe I would put on mascara. Mostly, this is what I looked like. And YES! the keratin treatment before the trip was awesome. After a shower my hair pretty much dried like this!
I hope your summer adventures have been awesome. Please let me know where you've been and what you've been doing!
