Denim Day is an annual violence prevention day sponsored by the Los Angeles-based nonprofit Peace Over Violence. Denim Day especially focuses on raising awareness about abuse and violence against women and children. Close to 10 million people across the country participated in 2013. Denim Day provides a wonderful opportunity for people to show solidarity with survivors of abuse around the country and to encourage open discussion about how we can work in our personal and professional lives to reduce violence in our communities.
