My baby girl and I have a big thing in comment...We both LOVE ballet. The difference is, she actually takes ballet lessons and she's completely devoted to them. Her somewhat less coordinated mama, on the other hand, wishes she hadn't quit fairly soon after starting them when she was a wee one. Haha! That being said, while I may not be the dancer my baby girl is quickly becoming, I can certainly appreciate ballet-inspired style! And my daughter loves rockin' duds that remind her of her dance wear too!
Ballet Inspired Style
On that note, the brand new American Girl 2017 Girl of the year, Gabriela McBride, just became a member of our family. My little lady was immediately drawn to her thanks to her dance background. What I love most about the American Girls line is the story. The dolls are so beautiful and exquisitely made, of course, but the stories that come with them, they're most special to me. The way Gabi uses her talent to fight for a cause close to her heart is a message that I'm thrilled to be able to share with my daughter! And we can't forget about her style either. Whether she's rockin' a vibrant warm up outfit or a sequin bedecked dance look, this American Girl is seriously stylish!
Now we didn't let the ballet inspired style sesh end there...We also took a couple pairs of our new ballet flats out for a mommy and me spin after she was done twirling. My sweet girl's metallic Umi Clea ballet flats couldn't be any sweeter and I can already tell they're going to be on repeat for many months to come. I mean you can't go wrong with the versatility of metallics! And my neutral colored Rockport Total Motion Hidden Wedge Ballet Flats go with everything from leggings, to my skinnies and even my boyfriend jeans. You can bet they'll be a big part of my ballet inspired style come spring! Who am I kidding? I live in Florida. I'll be turning to them long before spring. Bwah!
