An Open Letter to Crop Tops
Dear crop tops of the world...You think you're pretty cute don't you? Sure, you show off several inches of taut tummy on those oh so fabulous twenty somethings of the world pretty well....but what about the rest of us? What about us thirty something mamas who aren't exactly excited about rockin' a bikini...much less a crop top. We may have had large and in charge bambinos that did a number on the old abs that no amount of working out can reverse. You dig?
So, cut us a break won't you? Do you think you can fall out of favor for a bit? It's not that we hate you. We recognize how stylish you can be...we just don't want to look at you anymore. Instead of being faced with bare bellies, we're jonesin' for chic, somewhat more covered up looks. No hard feelings ok? You're still welcome to go over our maxi dresses. In that instance, you can actually add some interest to a somewhat simple piece like a solid colored maxi. We're just going to pass on all that skin being paraded around...
On that note, this fashion lovin' mom is going to shout her love of anti crop tops, AKA nice, long tunics, from the rooftop. And I'll be wearing them with leggings of course. Yep, I've fallen into the mommy leggings trap...and, frankly, I'm proud of it! You may not know this crop tops, but leggings can be just as stylish as you! Just sayin'.
