With New York Fashion Week in full force, it's time to make style a big focus. For ten days the city is buzzing with fashion energy. While I am doing my best to predict FUTURE trends, T.J.Maxx and Marshalls have fashionable moms covered for what you can wear outside right now.
Most moms are not paying too much attention to future trends, they want to know what's looking great right now, and how to get the fashions that work for them at a great price. My job as an editor is to balance future projections with wear-now solutions.
When a fashion challenge fell into my lap. I jumped at the chance to shop and style and outfit on a budget that was 100% seasonally appropriate.
Here’s how it worked: T.J.Maxx sent me on a mission to find something fabulous to style and wear during NYFW. Then they arranged for a professional photographer to meet me in the Meatpacking District for a shoot. After I made it to the Nicholas K show at Lincoln Center, I met up with the T.J.Maxx team downtown for this "street fashion" shoot.
I found this green dress from www.maxstudio.com for $20! To accessorize with the dress I wanted a necklace that made a statement. This suede necklace from www.lydellnyc.com was only $20 marked down from over $100. I added a pair of Cynthia Vincent heels from season's past.

The Best Overnight French Toast Recipe
We've hit the winter lull--that lengthy stretch of season with no plans, no parties, nothing to do, and nowhere to go. I have to admit that at first, I welcomed the quiet obligation-free weekends of January. After the nonstop hustle-bustle pace of November and December, my family ...read more
I know when I head to T.J.Maxx I can score designer and brand name fashions for 20-60% off department and specialty store prices. The weatherman was predicting 90-degree heat, it was so refreshing to know I could pop into T.J.Maxx for something to wear RIGHT NOW. Because that's how real women shop.
Thanks to T.J.Maxx for the fab fashion and fun photos. Now it’s your turn is it time for work or play for you?
