Do you have a favorite pair of jeans? Are you bummed out about low-waisted jeans? If so read on!
Not Your Daughter's Jeans are pitched as the answer to the mommy muffin and the awful look where panties peak out of waistbands. Not Your Daughter's Jeans (or NYDJ) is designed specifically with the modern mom in mind and I put them to my fit test.
The denim is soft and expensive feeling. They slip on without adding extra bulk. The tummy section has a support structure that pulls it all in (after two kids pilates can only do so much). I loved the finish--dark and dressy and the length. I could wear this jean with a 2" heel without having to shorted it. What they do best is fit a mom's waist. You won't find that annoying fabric bulge around your waist and you'll be able to sit, dance and chase your kids in style. Criss-cross stitching and reinforced pockets are all special features that create a flattering fit.
The fit runs on the generous side--consistent with Ann Taylor and Lauren, but fits large when compared to designers like Ralph Lauren's Blue Label collection, Tory Burch, etc. I know many moms will say amen to the plus sizes that are offered. Why should a size 22 mom not have the same chance to look chic as a size 2!
What Doesn't Work
My one criticism: Fix the rear pockets. I still love the way Paige denim places pockets on the rear. NYDJ had larger pockets and tended to flatten and widen my back side. Overall the fit of my Premium jean was slimming, this one area was not the most flattering.
NYDJ did not pay for this post. The sample jean was provided for testing purposes only. If you decide to buy a pair we encourage you to shop from our Amazon links to help support Momtrends.
