Last week, 100 influential bloggers joined Momtrends, Mom Generations and Lady and the Blog for the Third Annual Fashion Forward Conference, a business, fashion and lifestyle conference. They had the opportunity to listen to top notch brands and incredible panelists, among which were industry experts, successful bloggers and keynote speaker Christy Turlington Burns.
The conference was held at the beautiful Studio 450, a bright welcoming venue that was the perfect spot to host our fabulously stylish attendees, sponsors and panelists. When our attendees entered, they were met with beautiful blooms from PassionRoses that popped against the crisp white space.
They enjoyed lovely details like the flowers, sparkling drinks from KeVita and as they networked with each other and brands like Chevrolet, Dansko, CVS Emblem Abound Snacks, BoodleBox, Gwynnie Bee, Every Mother Counts, CAbi, Miraclesuit and Dyson. It was wonderful for the bloggers to have the opportunity to meet in person with the brands to discuss future relationships. And on their way back from their visit to the booths, they could stop for a java where a barista topped their cuppa hot goodness with their likeness at the Chevrolet booth.
When it was time to begin, the bloggers were treated to not one, but two fashion shows. First up was the kids' fashion show featuring designs from Matilda Jane and costumes from Spirit Halloween Costumes. The darling models were a big hit, including a turn from our tiniest model, little Gemma, who couldn't get enough of the runway. I do believe a star was born!
Once the fashion shows were over, it was time for a CVS Emblem Snack Break. The opportunity to refuel and mingle was welcomed before it was time to get down to business and focus on the business of blogging. Two panels were presented, the first one being "Empowering Your Community." Marcy Massura the North American Digital Lead at MSL Group, Chrysula Winegar, the Founder of Wake Up World Communications, Sharon Basel of GM Energy and Environmental Communication and Christine Hunsicker, the founder of Gwynnie Bee, all shared their words of wisdom.
After everyone was properly inspired by the first panel, they noshed on tacos, chips and guacamole from a taco truck from Tacombi. Who doesn't love a little food truck action? It certainly put everyone in a great mood and ready to sit down and listen to our key note speaker, none other than Christy Turlington Burns. She has been tirelessly advocating for her nonprofit organization, Every Mother Counts. She was kind enough to sit down for a Q&A with our own Nicole Feliciano. Her message? If you want to change the world, you need to inform and engage mothers! I daresay more than one blogger was moved to see how she could help address the barriers to maternal health that exist.
Next the Power Players of Social Media Panel hit the stage. Top bloggers Jessie Artique, founder of Style & Pepper, Jordan Reid, founder of Ramshackle Glam and Dina Fierro, founder of Eye 4 Style gave us the skinny on their social media best practices. They each had their favorite social media channels, but they all agreed on one thing...Focus on your favorite and engage, engage, engage. Show your audience you care! To think of all the incredible ideas that were probably born from this inspiring day, is exhilarating!
