Trend reporting never stops for the Momtrends team, that's why we go to the New York Baby Show every year to spot what's new. The 2016 New York Baby Show hosted by New York Family was a spectacular event. Thousands of families came through the event and enjoyed checking our what's new for baby. There were vendors showing off all the latest gear and lots of services educating families on brining up baby.
Bobbie Thomas and Alicia Ybarbo from the Today Show helped kick things off on Saturday morning. From there the real fun began, after the ribbon cutting the families streamed in, there was so much to see and do.
For me, there were so many highlights. The stroller track was busy all weekend. I took the new Bugaboo Runner for a spin. Kids loved the face painting and everyone turned out in droves to hear Jamie Grayson, The Baby Guy.
As I made my way down the rows of splendid goodies, I was excited to see so many dads involved. In fact, the Dad's Lounge, hosted by NYC Dad's Group was hopping all weekend.
Momtrends was thrilled to host nearly a hundred bloggers in the Momtrends Blogger Lounge. Childcare for the bloggers children was provided by Nanny League, so the bloggers could enjoy networking knowing their children were well tended to. Bloggers were treated to lunch and some hand-lettering crafts using the new book DIY Hand Lettering.

There’s never enough space for baby stuff or grown up stuff for that matter. I find I’m always packing my Hatch Things bag with me where ever I go. It’s lightweight, portable and stroller friendly. Clip it onto your stroller without flipping the stroller over and then load it with your mom essentials. Love the three new prints: Diapers. Food. Wine.
Regal Lager has a bevy of brands; a stand out from the Baby Show was the Qdos Crystal acrylic baby gate. Made of 5/16” acrylic, the gate is sleek and elegant. Hurrah! A gate that won’t wreck the look of your home, but it will keep baby out of harm’s way. Qdos products are easier to install than most of the competitors’ products, has improved function and are easy on the eye.
I finally got to check out the new Project Nursery Monitor. It's the best way to keep an eye on baby with a high definition video and easy navigation. This monitor won’t look clunky or out of place in your nursery. Cool factor: it has the world’s smallest audio and video monitor and a high-def LCD parent unit. The mini monitor 1.5” can be worn on your wrist through out the home.
This colorful chicken pillow caught my eye from the Momtrends Blogger lounge. There were rows of these adorable pillows at the La Millou booth. I wanted to check them out. Upon closer inspection I found out they were breastfeeding pillows. Stop the presses. They were adorable, soft and washable. No one will ever know they also prop up baby to the boob. Genius and chic.
Bugaboo bassinet stand. Here’s a secret from my early days of parenting. I used to let our newborn sleep in her stroller bassinet. We’d pop it out and place it in her crib. The crib was just too darn big for the little 6-pounder. Bugaboo must’ve known that’s what parents are doing. They developed a stand to hold the bassinet. It’s perfect for travel or for moms who just want to use the bassinet more.
Savor Keepsake boxes take the guesswork out of saving baby stuff. Many of us have best of intentions of keeping baby books, Savor makes it so easy. Just fill the drawers and label them and put some goodies into the colorful fodders. It’s just a matter of filing and organization. No artistic skill required. The pretty boxes will look swell in your nursery too.
BabyNes feeding system drew loads of onlookers. At first glance you might think they were whipping up coffee, nope, it’s a cool feeding system that grows with baby. Perfectly portioned serving capsules help sleep-deprived parents serve the perfect formula for baby’s age. The system looks sleek and modern with loads of science behind it.
Lulujo had some great finds. Everyone knows muslin swaddles are the best. We’re all over that trend and there are lots of brands like Lulujo that make muslin swaddlers, but not everyone sells the muslin with clips. Clips are a new-mom’s best friend. They’ll help you turn any location into a shady spot for feeding or nap time. I loved the clever packaging. And I also loved the colorful Turkish towels. In 2 years Turkish towels will be the next muslin swaddle—trend prediction.
As you can see, this show is a can't miss event. Hope you attended or mark your calendar for next year!
