There was a lot more than just high fashion at the recent Momtrends Expecting Moms event hosted at Belly Dance Maternity last week. The fabulous group of moms-to-be were treated to a fun and informative evening featuring facts about amniotic fluid storage with Biocell, breastfeeding with Leigh Anne O'Connor, swaddling with aden + anais and of course shopping.
The evening kicked off with the CEO of Biocell, the leaders in amniotic fluid storage, who presented information on the latest option that may help protect your child'??s health throughout his or her lifetime.
For most pregnant moms, the topic of amniotic fluid storage was new. They learned about the future health benefits of preserving a child'??s amniotic fluid, including spinal surgery for post-surgery bone healing, repairing cartilage for the knee, and developing skin for skin grafts. Collecting the amniotic fluid is easy, safe and conveniently performed during prenatal tests like the amniocentesis. For more information about amniotic fluid storage visit Biocellcenter.com.
Guest listened to expert swaddling tips from aden+ anais and tried out their newly acquired skill. Don'??t worry if you can't master it the first time around, you can always get the '??how to'? at www.adenandanais.com.
Lactation consultant, Leigh Anne O'??Connor, was on hand to ease anxious minds and answer questions about breastfeeding. Most commonly asked Q's and A's included - Q: What causes pain on the nipple? A: Poor attachment and a tied tongue (skin attached under the tongue). Q: How long should I feed the baby on each breast? A: Babies don'??t look at clocks. Feed until the breast is empty or the baby is finished. Q: What is the best book on breastfeeding? A: The best book is your baby.
A fashion show with fabulous moms from the audience highlighted ensembles for daytime, work, and evening. The NOM jeans by Belly Dance Maternity were a huge hit.
Moms shopped and enjoyed the fashions, like this dress, from Belly Dance Maternity.
Guests were treated to fabulous giveaways from Ameda, Kelty, Happy Baby, Aden +Anais and Bravado. The swag bags were filled with generous goodies from Aden +Anais, NUK and Pretty Printing and discounts from Totsy, Nomie Baby, Kid Fresh, Nuturme, Happy Baby, and Petit Organics.
