This past weekend, Momtrends attended an exciting store opening of the new Microsoft store at Roosevelt Field. The energy was incredible as a swarm of people were waiting outside the store for the opening and their chance to get free Demi Lovato tickets—some even camped out the night before in the parking lot!
To kick-off the event, Store Manager Fazal Din spoke to the crowd about this 3,775-foot retail store, along with Panos Panay, the Corporate Vice President of Surface. This also was a talk of how Microsoft is giving back to the community, where Panos and the Microsoft team donated grants to Autism Speaks, United Way of Long Island, Variety Child Learning Center, and Girl Scouts of Nassau County. With the crowd roaring, the team stood together for a fun ribbon cutting where an energetic staff was revealed in the new Microsoft store—jumping and clapping to greet us in the new location.
Once we were in the store, my young daughters instantly gravitated to the Surface Pro 3 stations where they played with the drawing games. This tablet features a larger screen, Kickstand, a cool Surface Pen, multiple ports, and more for the ultimate in portability and productivity.
Additionally, the store boasted the latest Windows Phones, Surface tablets, Xbox games, and more that eager shoppers now all had access to.
With such great price points, these tech items would be great for graduation gifts, where you can get $100 toward the purchase of a PC that is $599 or more from now through July 6.
During the event, I also learned about their unique Summer Camps program, where kids ages 8 to 10 can learn design programs. These FREE camps are held weekly at Microsoft stores, where kids can opt to learn about Smart Game Coding, Smart Game Designing, Smart Movie Making, and Smart Photo Taking, where they can learn how to code and problem-solve in a fun environment.
Additionally, Microsoft has an incredible education offer whereteachers and students save 10% always at the Microsoft store.
With the latest in technology for kids and adults, Microsoft has opened more than 90 locations and welcomed more than 379 million customers to its retail and online stores. As the 98th Microsoft retail store in the U.S., this new location at Roosevelt Field is a great place to discover the latest in technology innovations and services.
The Roosevelt Field Mall is located at 630 Old Country Road, Garden City, NY 11530
