Attention all pet lovers! Where can kids meet and play with a dog with six toes, a cat that looks like its had a perm, and Toto from the Wizard of Oz all in the same place? At the AKC Meet the Breeds event this November
Bigger and better than ever, AKC Meet the Breeds returns to the Jacob Javits Center, and it is an event no child should miss. This year kids of all ages can view 160 breeds of dogs and 50 breeds of cats - all in one place. It gives kids the opportunity to see rare breeds most have only read about (like the six-toed Norwegian Lundehund, the nearly 200 pound lion-like Leonberger, and pet a hairless Sphynx cat from the Egyptian times of King Tut), meet and play with thousands of dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens, earn a Girl Scout badge, watch dogs and cats race against the clock in Agilty (think the Olympics for animals), and so much more.
