Last week at the Outstanding Mother Awards, I bumped into Jill Zarin star of the Real Housewives NYC. Neither Jill nor I were up for an award, so we chatted a bit about motherhood and waited for the winners to arrive. Jill was looking fabulous in a buttery leather dress--she even dished that she did her own makeup and hair for the event (nice work and darn, I forgot to ask her what mascara she uses--her lashes looked fabulous).
Here's the scoop. I asked Jill what her daughter was getting her for Mother's Day and I got a laugh. No handmade cards for Jill. "My daughter's 18--I'm lucky if I get a phone call." Zill was toting a lovely Celine bag and I asked if that could be her Mother's Day gift--and she said, "Sure! Let's call it that!"

I asked Jill about the what the perfect Mother's Day would look like, and she answered, "In bed with my daughter waiting on me hand and foot." Seems like that young lady has some making up to do! Since it doesn't appear her daughter was going to spoil Jill, I asked how and when she carves out time for herself. The busy mom answered, "On Saturdays I do nothing. I work all week and stay home on Saturdays." She's quite a nester. Jill catches up on her favorite programs (DWTS--not a fan of Ralph)--especially anything involving Chelsea Handler.
We were pleased to learn her book, Secrets of a Jewish Mother continues to be a best seller around the globe--we're told it's doing great in China and Russia! Jill made sure to tell me about her new line of shapewear called Skweez Couture. The line includes leggings, corsets and all the underpinnings women need to look fabulous in their clothing. Can't wait to review it!
