Interview with Cobie Smulders #DeliveryManMovie
As we mentioned yesterday, we had the chance to visit the set of the new movie, Delivery Man, a movie about how David Wozniak (Vince Vaughn) finds out his sperm donation was the result of 533 children. The movie also features Emma (Cobie Smulders) who plays David's pregnant girlfriend who is sick of his behavior.
During our set visit, Cobie chatted with our group about this funny movie and her role as a cop. She spoke about her research for the role where she noted, "I met this guy when I was doing press for another movie and he works at the 34th Street Precinct. He took me around and then I also met a woman who is a single mom. That was really interesting because its possibly like the hardest job to be a single mom." She added, "you never know when youre coming home really. They do like 12 hour shifts and she worked from like twelve to twelve, or, she had a shift where she was able to sometime pick her kid up from school. So that was really interesting and kind of having that in the back of my head going I dont have a partner in this, then Im screwed. So I have to kind of make it work."
She also mentioned how the role of a pregnant women connected her to her personal role as a mother. She stated, "I think that you worry you dont have kids, you think you understand what its like to be a mom, you know. But being a mom is a totally different thing. Also, they really found that they were a working mom. That- that helped a lot, too."
She also spoke about filming the movie in NYC and how the location brings a lot of energy to the movie and to the set. She noted, "I love shooting in New York. I shot another movie here over the summer and it just, its very realistic like walking by and try to get their jobs and it, it gives like... New York itself is a, New Yorks a character unto itself. It always provides such a beautiful backdrop and it also gives energy to the movie as well."
She also spoke about her roles in sitcoms versus movies where she noted, "Im lucky enough to work on a sitcom which is a job unto itself where its the best schedule you could ask for. Its really as normal a job as you can ask for."
From mom to TV star to now co-star in this upcoming movie, we love how this multitasking mom is on the move and we can't wait to see her go head-to-head with Vince Vaughn in this upcoming movie.
Be sure to check it out the movie when it releases on November 22, 2013.
