The greenest blog around, Inhabitat, recently had a 5th birthday (yeah, we'??re humming the birthday song, too) and they invited the Momtrends team to come celebrate in style. With plenty of organic wine and alcohol to try--vodka and beer--it was an interesting time to mix and mingle with other '??greenies'?: apparently a term used to describe fellow environmentally-conscious city folk.
If you'??ve never heard of Inhabitat, go check it out now. It'??s a blog geared towards green living. There are tips and ideas on how to make your home green(er) and strategies on how convert from non-green living to an energy efficient and eco-friendly lifestyle. The party was held at Green Spaces, a funky event/work space in NYC with some alluring artwork--like this sculpture made of jeans!
Since we didn't have kids with us, we were able to sample adult beverages guilt-free. In addition to Snow- Natural Soda+Vitamins (The Cranberry Pomraz was the best) RIPE, we tasted wine from Fox Run Vineyards and Miles Wine Cellars. A favorite of the evening was the 2008 Reserve Riesling from Fox Run Vineyards. At $30 a bottle, this wine is a delicious and sweet choice perfect for any meal.
Another interesting product, that was being raffled off, was a bag from Voltaic. Valued at $249, this bag has solar paneling, perfect for charging your laptop while on the go. It'??s lightweight yet durable and it'??s shell uses 600D fabric made from recycled PET (soda bottles), which is tough AND water-resistant.
Momtrends was not paid for this post. We were happy to attend and support our bloggy friends.
