Fun Quilts
We've got some great scoop to share about a brand that is designing trendy bedding AND working to support a terrific cause. Last year we found the Many Hands Blanky and were wowed by the design. Mod animals are stitched into a 100% cotton flannel quilt. Pick from patterns such as a penguin, elephant or chimp. These colorful reversible quilts are adorable and oh so giftable.
Each 30" x 40" blanky is lovingly made by the the skilled hands of developmentally disabled adults at Envision in Chicago. What an awesome concept: Giving jobs to those who need them and giving great products to those who desire them. Each blankie is $75 (add an additional $5 for gift wrap and a note).
And there are more reasons to feel great about this company. For every ten quilts sold, they donate one to charity. Recent donations have gone to support the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, Sarah's Inn (domestic abuse shelter), the American Lung Association of Chicago, Half the Sky foundation (improving conditions in Chinese orphanages,) PADS: Public Action to Deliver shelter (providing shelter for the homeless,) Suzanne's Friends for Life (sponsoring leukemia research,) Hillsides (treating abused children in Pasadena,) Teen Living (providing shelter for runaways,) and many more
