It may be getting cold out there but there are still plenty of happening events going on in NYC over the winter. At the Sony Wonder Lab you can enjoy a FREE afternoon of fun movies on their 73-seat High Definition Theater! There are also some exciting workshops that the family can enjoy after the show.

All titles are subject to change.

SESAME STREET: ELMO’S ANIMAL ADVENTURES
Thursday, February 2
12 p.m.
Help Elmo and Tilly find Little Bo Peep’s missing cow by following clues and working together as a team. Use animal facts to help Elmo and Abby succeed in the “Find the Amphibian Game.” Finally, join Elmo in a camping adventure as he learns that sharing is fun and discovers the different types of food that animals eat.

THE BACKYARDIGANS - DOUBLE FEATURE
Saturday, February 4
12 p.m.
Join us for a special double feature of Nick Jr.’s animated series “The Backyardigans!” In “Break Out,” Princesses Uniqua and Tasha, and Magic Mirror Austin, must escape guards Pablo and Tyrone’s prison tower. In “For the Love of Socks,” the Backyardigans love making socks at the sock factory, but after an accident, they must venture into the giant sock machine itself to save socks for all of humanity.

DORA THE EXPLORER and GO, DIEGO, GO! - DOUBLE FEATURE
Saturday, February 11
12 p.m.
In “Dora the Explorer: Lost Map,” when a goofy bird mistakes Map for a stick and uses him to make its nest, Dora and Boots need your help to draw their own map and rescue their friend. In “Go, Diego, Go: Welcome Home, Lion Cub,” join Diego and Baby Jaguar as they travel to Africa to help Daddy Lion and his family make it back to their pride in time for Lion Cub’s party.

SESAME STREET: ELMO LOVES YOU!

Elmo is making a super special surprise card for someone he really loves, but a gust of wind blows it away.Rosita joins Elmo to chase after the card but they can’t reach it. Can Super Grover use his heroic powers to save the day?

Join us for a special double feature of Nick Jr.’s “Yo Gabba Gabba!” In “Talent,” find out everyone’s special talent as your Gabbaland friends all get ready for the Yo Gabba Talent Show! In “Ride,” DJ Lance and the Gabba gang explore different ways to ride, from surfboards to roller skates.

Have you ever heard of an Elmosaurus? How about a Telly Rex? Join Sesame Street’s curious red monster as he explores dinosaurs. What did dinosaurs eat? How did they move? What did they look like? And what would happen if Elmo, Telly and Abby became dinosaurs?

FAMILY WORKSHOP: ANIMAL FACES
Thursday, February 2
1 – 2 p.m.
$5 per participant
Explore the different facial and physical characteristics of animals! Then, make the animal of your choice come alive by creating your very own animal puppet to take home. No reservation required and space is limited.

HANDS-ON-NANO DEMOS
Saturday, February 4
1 – 3 p.m.
Join us to uncover the fascinating world of nanoscience and nanotechnology. Participate in hands-on activities that explore the properties, structures, materials and scale of this important field of science. Also visit our interactive Nanotechnology Exhibit to learn about its various applications in use today. All activities require general admission to the Lab and are available on a first come first served basis. No reservation required. Best suited for ages 7 and up.

SCI-TECH WORKSHOP: FLOWER POWER
Saturday, February 11
11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
$10 per participant
Create a flower like no other! One that will never die or even wilt . . . because it runs on batteries! Using LEDs, fiber optics, colored cellophane and some technical know-how, you can design and power-up your very own colorful electronic flower to take home! Reservations of up to 4 children can be made beginning the Monday of the week the program is offered by calling (212) 833-8100. Best suited for ages 8 and up.

FAMILY WORKSHOP: WHO DO YOU LOVE?

$5 per participant
Want to send a special message to the one you love? Join us to create and decorate a Valentine’s Day mailbox, then create and deliver a special Valentine’s Day card to someone you love. No reservation required and space is limited. Especially for our younger audience.

Best suited for children at a pre-k to kindergarten learning level.

Reservations can be made beginning on the Monday of the week in which a screening is scheduled by calling (212) 833-8100. Remaining tickets will be distributed 30 minutes prior to the start of the screening on a first come first serve basis. Admission will be closed to ticket holders 15 minutes after the screening begins. Children under 18 will not be admitted unless accompanied by an adult.
