The Big Apple. Manhattan. New York City...
Life in this concrete jungle is amazing. It’s busy. It’s fast-paced, it’s stressful and hectic. But, yes, it’s pretty fabulous too. As New Yorkers, we’re always go-go-going—on the move, running from place to place. It can feel like we’re perpetually in motion. And as busy moms, that’s doubly true. From school drop-off to work, and errands in-between, we seemingly never stop.
And that’s exactly why Capital One is reinventing the bank scene in NYC at their brand-new flagship location in Union Square. They’re bringing back the human element to banking—returning to a place of hospitality and humanity, and offering manic Manhattanites the opportunity to slow down and perk up.
Open and airy, the Union Square storefront is so much more than an ordinary bank. It’s an innovative space where guests can sit back, relax, and enjoy an experience. With lounge areas, booths, tablet stations, and a full-service Peet’s coffee shop, customers can take a breather and sip a handcrafted cup of joe, while getting their finances sorted. (No one likes multitasking more than a New Yorker!)
Customers can get advice on their bank accounts, apply for loans, interact with the latest online and mobile banking tools, transfer money, receive cashier checks, and learn about Capital One’s credit cards, investing, auto lending, and Spark Small Business products, in a super open and inviting environment. (Plus, you get 50 percent off your drink when using a Capital One credit or debit card.)
We were there to celebrate the opening of this incredible new location, and attended the bread-breaking ceremony. While mixing, mingling, and sipping Peet’s coffee, we listened to Capital One executives and managers speak to their collective vision for this unique experiential bank. Later, representatives from community nonprofits, such as Union square Partnership and Hot Break Kitchen, shared how Capital One is helping them improve the neighborhood in big and small ways. Capital One presented these incredible organizations with oversize checks, and then they all gathered together to break bread signifying the official opening of the incredible flagship.
Later that night, Capital One threw a VIP party featuring celebrity chef Josh Capon, who engaged guests with a cooking demonstration; and musician Lang Lang who performed to the delight of guests and patrons.
It was a celebratory day at Capital One’s new flagship—and, moreover, an exciting time for all of the brand's NYC customers. Capital One is redefining the role of a bank and reshaping the way you think about banking.
Take a break from the breakneck pace of everyday life in New York City and enjoy the amenities and amiability at Capital One in Union Square... It feels good to slow down.
