I was so excited to be a part of the first-annual Chicago Baby Show. It was held August 26-27, 2017 at Navy Pier in downtown Chicago and was a blast. We met THOUSANDS of expecting parents and were lucky enough to work with Chicago's top bloggers to host them at the Momtrends Blogger Lounge where we captured incredible videos like this one from Chicco:
The show was packed full of products and information geared to new parents. It's a terrific resource for anyone expecting! A huge highlight was the stroller track. As far as pre-baby research goes, many of us spent hours and hours figuring out the best "ride" for baby. It's such a boon for parents to get to compare and contrast all the models in one spot. In all, there were more than a dozen stroller companies on hand. I got to see a ton of new models and boy was there a lot of eye candy!
It was so cute to see the Dads "kicking the tires" of all the latest models and taking the strollers for a spin on the test track. As far as what's new, I loved the Austlen stroller--there was so much space for all the mom-life gear and the chic designs from Mima.
As far as the brands, Huggies stood out with a hug booth with a big interactive space. New parents flocked there to sign up for the Huggies rewards. When it comes to innovation, there was a lot more to see than just strollers. The Chicco Fit2 car seat was a big deal. The idea of leaving kids rear-facing until age 2 is a big deal.
Best of the Chicago Baby Show
When it comes to picking my three favorites from the show, it's just too hard to narrow down one stroller that stood out. My first pick is something smaller - the new line of beauty products for moms-to-be and moms called Glow 9 Organics.
Pregnancy makes you take a long hard look at what you are eating and putting on your skin. This brand is making skincare products that any mom would feel safe using. All the products are formulated especially for pregnancy.
The line includes bath bombs, scrubs, soaks and lotions. The bath bombs make great gifts and are one of the little treats expecting moms deserve. Of the three bath bomb scents, I like the Pregnancy Bath Bomb (Relax). It's a mix of lavender, bergamot & frankincense organic essentials oils that smells divine. The oils included will alleviate stretching, irritated skin and also act as an oil treatment for your hair. This Bath Bomb is also a multi-tasker for pregnant and new moms. The products are organic, vegan, gluten and cruelty free.
Innobaby Safari Play Tent
My second pick is from Innobaby. This brand has a variety of items made to keep mom and baby organized. But the item I picked was just plain fun! We had this tent in our booth at the Blogger Lounge. Many of our blogger friends brought kids along to the show. The kiddos couldn't stay away from this cute play area.
The Safari tent is perfect for a playroom or a bedroom, it's easy to set up and invites a ton of creative play. It's made of soft, durable cotton canvas with real pine poles. There are three prints available, but we loved this unisex safari print. This portable tent has a peek-a-boo close-able mesh window with hook-and-loop tabs and a full fabric floor that helps ensure the structure’s stability and makes it super cozy. Check out all the Sage Pole tents here.
I truly believe moms shouldn't have to give up an ounce of style after baby arrives. It's our whole reason for starting Momtrends. A chic diaper bag is EVERYTHING. This BFF model from Ju-Ju-Be give mom everything she needs and then some.
While it comes in many prints, I love the stripes of the Queen of the Nile. It's chic and helps you stay on top of all the gear motherhood requires. It has tons of pockets and pouches and is completely convertible. The BFF comes with detachable shoulder straps and messenger straps.
I adore that the handle front "mommy pocket" holds keys (with a stretch key fob) and sunglasses (cleans lenses too!). The two exterior pockets are insulated to hold bottles and one last note, it is machine washable (please air dry).
Chicago Baby Show was a huge success! I can't wait to attend next year. To get more information about the show head to http://chicagobabyshow.com/
