What I Wore Wednesday
Time to jump on the fashion bandwagon and start talking about real outfits and real fashion. At casa de Momtrends. Things start moving early. There's little time to second-guess sartorial choices. All the ladies in this family select outfits the night before. This outfit was selected for a "go-see" a schmancy word for offering one's self up for criticism in the hopes of landing a marketing gig.
I wanted to appear hip and trendy, and also needed to take the girls to school. So this is what I pulled together.
Necklace: Theadora & Callum
Shoes: Softt snake sandals
Jeans: J Brand
Tank: American Apparel
Sweater: Tory Burch
First and foremost, the shoes were new to me. I got them at a fashion event a few months ago. I was thrilled with the chic look but even better, these heels were made for walking. The jeans are oldies but goodies. I spent a bundle on them a few years ago, but now they are in the rotation at least 2x per week. Making their cost per use come way down. The American Apparel tanks ($21) are a favorite. They've got a built-in shelf bra. Perfect for summer layering. And the two investments of the season are the necklace ($398) and the sweater ($298). The sweater is a favorite color and the batwing is an updated silhouette making if feel fresh not fussy. I've already worn the necklace a dozen times. It gets so many compliments.
I thought the outfit was fun, urban and cool. Don't know if I got the TJMaxx spot, but I did feel great. At the agency office I was surrounded by 20-year-old fashionistas in heels and I held my own.
