Honoring the moms you love doesn't have to end with Mother's Day. Why not celebrate with the other strong and confident moms in your life, as well as with your own little one? I invited some of my girlfriends and Maggie’s friends over for brunch while we toasted to friendship and talked about all the amazing women who impacted our lives. Continue scrolling for pictures and tips for setting up the real hit of the party, a PB&J station!
I based the entire party around the bright and poppy Wanderlust party décor. The vibrant colored garland, flag stickers and table confetti set a cheerful, yet casual vibe I was aiming for and really popped against the solid white floral centerpiece.
Our menu consisted of simple make-ahead items that allowed me to spend time with everyone as compared to being in the kitchen. Try serving a mixture of savory and sweet such as a quiche, croissants, and fruit salad. The real crowd pleaser were the mini cakes from The Brooklyn Baking Barons and it seems everyone went back for seconds…(and thirds!)
I customized prints for my friends in Minted’s art section and wrapped them in the organic diamond fabric. I loved seeing how excited the moms (and the kids!) were to see their own personalized treasure that they could take home and hang on their wall.
For our little toddlers, the biggest hits of the party were the crowns and PB&J making station. To create your own PB&J bar, set out an assortment of jelly and preserves, peanut butter and fruits such as strawberries and bananas on top of some vibrantly colored table confetti. Let them cut the sandwich “on their own” using animal and puzzle outlines like the ones I picked up from Munchkin.
For me, (especially since I have two kids under the age of two!) the days have been a bit crazier than I imagined, but any day is the perfect time to step back from our typical hurried pace to appreciate the moment. To do so, I started documenting the funny little things my kids do and the personalities they’re developing in a journal to keep track of this special time before it becomes a distant memory!
