The winter months can really do damage to a girl'??s wardrobe: the bulky coats, the thick hats, the strange looking muffs for the hands and ears'?¦.but thanks to brands like 66 North, we can welcome winter with open, and fashionably covered, arms. For the cold weather, 66 North offers "haute clothes."
We recently had the chance to view the Icelandic-brand'??s winter line at New York City's Scandinavia House and we saw some gorgeous gear. Not only did the products look sophisticated, they looked like they would actually keep you warm, too. And these guys know cold; Iceland'??s average temperature in winter is 20!
Here are some trends we saw and loved:
Fur (for men and women)---trimmed on mittens ($63, shown below, which we scored) hats, hoods, and boots, we think this fashion classic is here to stay with a modern, flirty twist.
Over-sized collars--- Not to go all 70'??s on you, but we dug the sweaters with the cow-necks and gigantic swags of fabric around the collars.
Plums, yellows, and sage---these colors really help shake the winter doldrums and add some personality to your style. (Plum jacket, left, $158)
Some trends we weren'??t so fond of:
Skin-tight pants for guys--- We'??re over the skinny-jean phenomenon for the men, but it seems new fabrics are emerging for the fitted pants like gator and velour.
Zippers all over--- One or two here or there is fun. But we don'??t like the fact that you could probably get lost in multiple zippers on one coat.

Momtrends was not paid for this post. We did receive those killer mittens.
